ETRC - Hahn and Lacko share victories; separated by just two points in title battle

12.06.16

Not only did Jochen Hahn and Adam Lacko share the wins at the Circuit Paul Armagnac, Nogaro on Sunday, but incredibly after 12 of the 36 races completed so far this season, just two points separate them in the standings for the 2016 FIA European Truck Racing Championship crown.

Hahn and Lacko have been almost impossible to separate on the track so far this season after some incredibly close and competitive encounters. Nogaro was no different as they each took an excellent win today.

The results set up the thrilling prospect of one of the closest title fights in recent FIA ETRC history as the pair continue to fight it out on the circuits of Europe. Lacko leads with 146pts to Hahn's 144.

RACE 3

Jochen Hahn became the third winner in as many races this weekend at Nogaro as he claimed victory in the third race on Sunday lunchtime.

The German took the lead from pole sitter Adam Lacko at the start and was able to control the race despite late race pressure from the Buggyra International Racing System driver.

Following on from his race two win on Saturday afternoon, Rene Reinert took another clutch of points with third position. The German was able to manage the gap to his teammate Steffi Halm who secured fourth position.

Halm came under attack early on from Anthony Janiec in the yellow Lion Truck Racing entry. The combative Frenchman however was unable to sustain the pressure and had to settle for fifth position and a repeat of his race two result from yesterday.

RACE 4

Adam Lacko became the fourth different winner of the Nogaro weekend this afternoon as he guided his Buggyra International Racing System truck to an exhilarating win.

The fourth race started in spectacular fashion and just like in race two the reversed grid pole sitter Eduardo Rodrigues was swamped at the front of the field. Sascha Lenz sprinted in to the lead but it was very short-lived as local hero Janiec soon made his way through and it was the Lion Truck Racing driver who crossed the line at the end of the first tour at the head of the field.

There were some hard luck stories after the first lap as Ellen Lohr and Rene Reinert both lost out with excursions and resumed in 10th and 11th places respectively. Reinert had to get out of a gravel trap to continue before pitting and retiring with damage to his truck.
