ETRC: Battle resumes at Lausitzring with Kiss on maximum points
The 2025 Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship resumes this weekend, heading directly from the Misano season-opener to the Lausitzring, where round two unfolds, running alongside DTM in an action-packed three-day programme

Following a dramatic start to the 2025 season at Misano, the Goodyear FIA ETRC grid moves straight to the Lausitzring for round two of the eight-event campaign.
Reigning champion Norbert Kiss made a commanding statement in Italy, recovering from early technical issues to take four wins from four possible. Despite missing the first qualifying session due to a steering failure, the Hungarian maximised his points haul and leads the standings heading to the Eastern Germany venue.
Jochen Hahn showed strong pace across the Misano weekend but was unable to convert that speed into a win, with penalties and late-race incidents proving costly. He remains Kiss’s closest challenger.
René Reinert made a notable return to full-time competition, stepping back into the cockpit after a three-year break. Driving Kiss’s former machine, the German quickly adapted and reinserted himself into the Titan class fight.
Steffi Halm also impressed, claiming two overall podiums with assertive racecraft throughout the weekend. Her performance suggests she may be a consistent threat in the title race this season.
The Titan class remains finely poised. Just five points separate Reinert in fourth and Sascha Lenz in seventh, underscoring the competitiveness of the 2025 field. Further down the order, Antonio Albacete and Luke Garrett will look to bounce back after a collision in Misano’s Race 4 forced both out with heavily damaged trucks.
In the Chrome class, Mark Taylor’s two victories were offset by two DNFs, allowing Clemens Hecker to take the early points lead with a consistent showing capped by a Race 4 win. The top five in the standings are covered by just six points.
Bradley Smith, in his first full ETRC season, showed promise despite early setbacks, while Steffen Faas, who had a point-less Misano outing, continues to develop the his Freightliner, having switched from Scania machinery ahead of the season.
The event at the Lausitzring is set to commence on Friday and will continue over the weekend. All the action will be streamed live via the official Goodyear FIA ETRC YouTube channel.
