The Federation of Motorsports Clubs of Uganda (FMU) has celebrated a successful 2025 FMU ESport Championship Series, marking an important milestone in the country’s rapidly growing motor sport landscape.

The series, launched in August 2025, attracted a competitive field of participants and showcased Esports as a new and valuable  grassroots pathway into motor sport.

Individuals competed across four rounds using the WRC Generations platform on the Monte Carlo, Argentina and Finland rally stages, challenging drivers with different terrains and conditions. At the end of four closely fought rounds, Isaac ‘Jua Kali’ Katende emerged victorious, having delivered an outstanding performance at the final event held at The Fun Station, Metroplex Naalya.

Leon Ssenyange, FMU ESport Co-ordinator said:
“What a journey we’ve had! I am glad we started this project. We have been able to tap into the excitement of Esports. We have seen the demand for this kind of motor sport and it is promising. Many young people have shown interest in being part of this in 2026.”

Isaac ‘Jua Kali’ Katende Miguel, Overall Championship winner said:
“I have enjoyed every race. I really want to thank FMU for this initiative. The competition has been tight and everybody is improving. I know it will be tougher next season with many more people joining.”

The Federation of Motorsports Clubs of Uganda has confirmed that the Esports Championship Series will continue in 2026, with dates to be announced in due course. This momentum sets the stage for a larger, more competitive, and more visible Esports season in Uganda and across the region this year.
