KREIM’S NEAR MISS IS THE ERC’S FIA ACTION OF THE YEAR NOMINATION
Fabian Kreim’s near miss on the final stage of Rally Liepāja is the FIA European Rally Championship’s nomination for the annual FIA Action of the Year Competition. TARMAC TAMED: ERC2 STAR REMENNIK WINS FIA ERT2 TITLE
Sergei Remennik overcame his limited asphalt knowledge to win the ERT2 section of the FIA European Rally Trophy finale, which took place on Rallye Casinos do Algarve in Portugal last weekend (16-17 November). Teaming up with stand-in co-driver Marina Danilova, Remennik was embroiled in a thrilling lead battle with Ricardo Costa until the Portuguese was forced out early on leg two with a loss of powersteering, leaving the Russian in the clear to triumph.Click for full story.
 
WHY IT’S 15 AND COUNTING FOR MIKOŁAJKI, ERC RALLY POLAND’S BASE
The Mikołajki resort in the picturesque Masurian lake district will host Rally Poland for the 15th time next June, with fans benefiting from the earlier scheduling. Subject to FIA World Motor Sport Council approval, the PZM 76th Rally Poland will form part of the FIA European Rally Championship calendar in 2019 as the fourth event of the all-action season and the third to take place on gravel stages. Click for full story.
 
PROUD RALLY ISLAS CANARIAS BOSSES PLANNING “EXCITING” ERC ROUTE
Rally Islas Canarias bosses have welcomed the event’s inclusion on the provisional FIA European Rally Championship calendar for 2019, describing it as a “proud” moment. Pending FIA World Motor Sport Council ratification when it meets in St Petersburg, Russia on 5 December, Rally Islas Canarias will take place from 2-4 May as the second event of the upcoming ERC campaign. Click for full story.
 
ROMA HEAD PRAISES ERC, REVEALS SPECTACULAR FINISH PLANS
Rally di Roma Capitale bosses have praised the FIA European Rally Championship for the role it has played in promoting the all-asphalt contest. The Italian event joined the ERC roster for the first time in 2017 and is becoming established as one of the highlights of the season with a “more spectacular finish” planned for next year when it’s scheduled to take place from 19-21 July 2019, subject to FIA World Motor Sport Council approval. Click for full story.
