MAGALHÃES PLOTS 2019 ERC RETURN
SEAJETS-backed Bruno Magalhães is getting over the disappointment of missing out on a PZM Rally Poland entry by announcing plans to return to the FIA European Rally Championship in 2019. Magalhães, who has challenged for the coveted title for two seasons running, has been unable to secure the full funding for the all-gravel event and also expects to sit out the Rally Liepāja finale in October as a result. But he plans to return to the ERC in 2019 and is already working to secure the budget. Click for full story.

POLAND ROUTE TO CHALLENGE ERC CREWS
Organisers of the PZM 75th Rally Poland have said the route of this year’s all-gravel FIA European Rally Championship counter will “challenge” crews. The 15-stage event covers 214.92 competitive kilometres and marks the Mikołajki-based rally’s return to the ERC schedule for the first time since 2013 when Kajetan Kajetanowicz took his breakthrough international victory. Click for full story.

ERC JUNIOR U27 GRADUATE HUTTUNEN IN HYUNDAI FOR POLAND
Jari Huttunen, last year’s FIA ERC Junior Under 27 runner-up, will be back on European championship duty in Poland next week – only this time he’ll be R5-powered. Having won in R2 machinery last season – including in the Pirelli-supported ERC Junior U27 category in Poland – Huttunen was chosen for the Hyundai Motorsport Driver development Program (HMDP) for 2018. As well as selected tests and world championship rallies, Huttunen’s schedule includes the ERC-counting PZM Rally Poland in a Hyundai i20 R5 when he will go up against a number of fellow ERC Junior U27 graduates. Click for full story.

Several FIA European Rally Championship drivers were on top form last weekend with Marijan Griebel and Nikolay Gryazin among the notable winners. Griebel made it two German championship wins in succession with victory on ADAC Rallye Niedersachsen, while Gryazin came out on top in the battle to win the Polish championship-counting Rally Elektrėnai in Lithuania. Click for full story.
