Cars are the stars as GT1 comes to Pamplona

Spanish crowds flocked to the famous Plaza del Castillo in Pamplona last night to get up close and personal with FIA GT1 World Championship cars.

The fortress town of Pamplona in northern Spain is about 50 miles from the Navarra circuit, the scene of the third round of the FIA GT1 World Championship this weekend.

A number of teams put their cars on show in the city landmark which is the site of the annual Festival San Fermin, more commonly known as ‘the Running of the Bulls’. Several drivers also signed autographs for captivated fans.

The festival gained notoriety in Ernest Hemingway’s novel ‘The Sun Also Rises’. Fittingly, GT1’s very own raging bull, one of the Reiter Engineering Lamborghinis, was part of the display.

The action switches to Navarra this Saturday with the Lamborghinis attempting to preserve a two-year unbeaten record at the Spanish circuit.
