On 8 June, the 20 Club Correspondents from 18 countries came together in Lisbon. The meeting was kindly hosted by ACP. Like previous years, the Club Correspondents had the opportunity to sit down together and discuss upcoming developments in FIA Region I. The meeting started with a presentation from the FIA Region I office, on planned events, activities and opportunities for the Clubs. The participants also got a first look at the Innovation Hub, that will soon be available.

After that, the Clubs took the floor and ACP’s General Manager, Luis Figueiredo, introduced the Club Correspondents to their host and its activities. The next Club presentation was given by Aleid Lieshout (The Royal Dutch Touring Club ANWB) on ANWB’s Electric Car Community. The community provides the Club’s members with information about electric driving, and a platform to exchange experiences. Aleid invited Clubs to join the project, to promote electric driving even further.

Following the Club presentations, a coach from the Knowledge Academy provided the group with a training on time management. In the afternoon, the Club Correspondents received an update from the FIA office on FIA Networks, OTA, and the upcoming Mobility Conference in Uruguay. Additionally, the participants received information on the Road Safety Grants Programme, to which Clubs can submit projects for funding.

At the end of the day, Touring Club Suisse’s Jessica Tritten was named Club Correspondent of the year. She was rewarded for her cooperation with other Club Correspondents and her involvement in Region activities.
