Superstarsworld welcomes FIA F3 European Championship for 2013 Vallelunga Finale.

YOUNG FORMULA 3 STARS SET TO RACE IN FRONT OF THE LARGE SUPERSTARSWORLD CROWD NEXT OCTOBER

Rome, July 5th, 2013

Thanks to the SUPERSTARSWORLD, the most prestigious international open-wheel environment will be back on-track at Vallelunga. The SWR series will headline a memorable weekend for its 2013 season finale on the 12th and 13th of October. It will be a true super-weekend for the Roman venue with the addition of the renowned FIA F3 European Championship to an already-exciting schedule. Once again, SUPERSTARSWORLD and Vallelunga will be joining for an extraordinary event, full of passion and history, where fans will be the main stars, ready to beat any attendance record - last year, 33.000 of them crowded the circuit's grandstands and paddock.

"The SUPERSTARSWORLD event at Vallelunga is set to be a true happening for the Italian motor sports panorama - said SWR Managing Director Vincenzo Lamaro - we had already considered to join forces with the German promoter of the FIA F3 European series last year, and with this event at Vallelunga that opportunity is set to come to fruition, bringing the future champions of international motor sports on-track at Vallelunga for the first time".

The FIA F3 European Championship will bring young drivers and famous names back to Rome including the heirs of some of some top dynasties in racing including Eddie Cheever and Josh Hill, son of 1996 F.1 World Champion Damon and nephew of 1968 World Champion Graham.

"We are delighted to present the second Italian FIA Formula 3 European Championship race this season on Vallelunga circuit - said FIA’s Single Seat Commission President Gerhard Berger - Finally, after thirty years Formula 3 is back on the circuit near Rome.

"In terms of TV coverage and attendance it is quite an advantage to present our race together with the final of the SUPERSTARSWORLD which is a big event in Italy.

"For the vast majority of our drivers it will be their first time on this circuit, they will have the opportunity to profit from experiencing a new track. We are looking forward to three interesting and even more exciting, while reaching the end of the season, races. Everybody will be thrilled at that time which driver will be close to win the European Championship title and being rewarded with a Scuderia Ferrari F1 test!"

The International Formula 3 environment is back to a track where it was paired with the Grand Prix of Rome and Campidoglio for many years. Its history was written by many champions starting from the mid seventies. The roll of honour there includes Riccardo Patrese, a runner-up in 1976, who found a perfect stepping stone towards Formula 1 and the World Sportscar Championship. The same went for the late Elio De Angelis (the last driver to win a race for Colin Chapman in a Lotus).

The last European-sanctioned round was held in 1983 and the win was scored by Emanuele Pirro, who went on to become a multiple Le Mans 24 Hour Champion. The race's roll of honour includes more great drivers like Michele Alboreto, Eddie Cheever and Gerhard Berger.

Thirty years later, the European Formula 3 series is back to Vallelunga thanks to the SWR weekend, a not-to-miss one between past and present with the best touring car and GT racing in business (SUPERSTARS and GTSPRINT) joined by finest open-wheel series in Europe in an exciting package for fans.

"Having the SUPERSTARSWORLD of my dear friend Flammini and the FIA F3 European Championship running together in one event at Vallelunga will be a chance not to miss - told Eddie Cheever - this track is almost my home circuit and I still have good memories. I was very impressed by the track's latest changes when I followed my son last winter in his Formula 1 Ferrari test".

"The European F3 Championship launched me in the international motorsports arena - said Emanuele Pirro - and I remember my win in 1983 as one of the best moments in my career. At that time, having such a massive support from the people was worth a few more horsepower. I hope that this year's edition, thanks to the 2013 SUPERSTARS success, will provide the international Formula 3 panorama with the same great crowd”.
