2021 FIA Formula One World Championship: Media Accreditation
The following information reflects the current situation regarding media accreditation for the 2021 FIA Formula One World Championship season as affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. It is subject to change at any time as this situation continues to develop.
Permanent Accreditation
Due to the restrictions on international travel and attendance at events during the 2020 season, all 2020 permanent passholders will be automatically approved for 2021 – however you still need to apply for your 2021 permanent accreditation using the Accreditation Management System (F1.ams.fia.com).
The deadline for permanent pass applications is 8 February.
Once you have applied for your permanent 2021 pass, please note the following:
Access to events in 2021 will still be subject to the requirements set out in Appendix S to the International Sporting Code and all local health authority requirements, meaning that social distance requirements inside the Media Centres will limit the capacity we have for physical attendance at Grands Prix. We therefore require all permanent passholders to use the Accreditation Management System to indicate which events they plan to attend during this season by making an individual Race by Race application for each one (this is in addition to having made an application for the permanent pass).
For the avoidance of doubt, you must make an application for each event you plan to attend using your profile in the Accreditation Management System. Your permanent pass does not mean that you can automatically attend each event without making an application.
It is possible that due to these limitations we may be over-subscribed for some events, and therefore cannot guarantee access for permanent passholders at all events in 2021. We will accommodate as many people as possible and operate a rota system in case of over-subscription.
To enable us to effectively manage attendance at each event, all requests must be made using the Accreditation Management System at least six weeks in advance of the race. Any requests made after this time will be automatically rejected.
Specific details regarding entry requirements (such as travel requirements, COVID-19 testing etc.) as well as on-site access protocols will be detailed in due course.

Race-by-Race Accreditation
Due to social distancing requirements, the capacity of Media Centres at FIA Formula One World Championship events has been significantly reduced, and general international race-by-race accreditation therefore currently remains closed.
Those representatives of publications that already have an account set-up on the Accreditation Management System may apply to attend events – these applications will be placed on a reserve list and contacted only in the event that there is spare capacity in the media centre for the relevant event.
All applications must be lodged at least six weeks in advance of the race – if no confirmation has been sent by the FIA by four weeks in advance of the race, the application should be assumed to be rejected.
National Accreditation
A small number of places in the media centres will remain reserved for national media publications. Please contact the National Press Officer in your country to make an application for national media accreditation. These applications remain subject to final approval by the FIA. All applications must be lodged at least eight weeks in advance of the race.
