The Formula Regional European Championship – Certified by the FIA, is a brand new Formula 3 open-wheel single seater championship held across Europe. Drivers compete in Formula 3 cars that conform to the FIA regulations for the category.
It is one of three championships under the Formula Regional umbrella, together with F3 Americas Championship - Certified by FIA and F3 Asian Championship - Certified by FIA. The Formula Regional championships are the only route for drivers to progress from Formula 4 to the FIA Formula 3 Championship.
2019 is the inaugural season of the championship. The first event was held on 14 April at Circuit Paul Ricard and the eight-meeting calendar concludes on 20 October at Mugello Circuit.
