EDF

The FIA and EDF, as an Official Technical Supplier of the FIA for audit, research tests of propulsion, charging, and electrical safety in motor sport, have joined forces to develop innovative electric parts in motor sport and thereby improve its safety.

Through a long-term agreement signed in 2014, experts from the FIA and EDF have been sharing information and best practices on issues concerning the use and practical application of electric battery cells, packs, engines and transmission.

The energy company’s involvement also includes its competence in electricity to support the FIA in the development of appropriate standards and regulations for electric and hybrid racing vehicles, in particular with regard to safety and emergency training.

Finally, EDF will work with the FIA to conduct literature reviews and testing, as well as audits of those FIA championship races where cars are either fully or partially based on electric propulsion systems.
