Launched in 2014, Formula E has become the international platform for the development of electric vehicle technology and the promotion of sustainable mobility. Since its inception, Formula E has undoubtedly gone from strength to strength. In a rather short timeframe, it has completed a major journey, quickly establishing itself as one of the world’s most competitive racing series, proving itself relevant for the automotive industry with many manufacturers on board, attracting talented drivers and putting each time on a good show. The all-electric city street racing series turned into an FIA World Championship in Season 7 (2020-21) and with its new world championship status, Formula E has reached another important milestone.

Created in 2016, the FIA Sustainable Mobility Programme is an annual grant programme that supports sustainable, accessible and inclusive mobility initiatives. It receives funding from the FIA Foundation and is steered by the FIA Mobility Division under the guidance of the FIA Mobility Policy Commission.

With an eye on the future, the FIA is working toward comprehensive integration of new technologies in personal mobility.

Travel and Tourism within the FIA covers 3 areas: the Organisation mondiale du Tourisme et de l'Automobile (OTA) database, the International Driving Permits (IDPs) and the Carnets de Passages en Douane (CPDs).
