Asia-Pacific Rally Championship
Asia-Pacific Rally Championship
Launched for the 1988 season, the FIA Asia-Pacific Rally Championship is back in 2022 after restrictions resulting from the global health pandemic meant it could not be held in 2020 or 2021.
Because of the huge geographical spread of events and in order to help facilitate and maintain competitor interest, the APRC is split into two distinct four-event mini-series – the Asia Cup and Pacific Cup – with a winner-takes-all finale scheduled at the end of the season.
For 2022, the Asia Cup covers events in India, Japan, Indonesia and China, while the Pacific Cup is made up of rallies in Australia. The Coffs Coast Rally in Australia has the honour of hosting the APRC Final from November 18-20.
Aside of FIA homologated manufacturer vehicles, the competition is also open to locally approved AP4 cars, which are an equivalent of Rally2 cars in the Australia Pacific’s region.
