Sébastien Loeb and Daniel Elena claimed their sixth consecutive victory in Rally Mexico today, winning the event ahead of their team-mates Mikko Hirvonen and Jarmo Lehtinen by 42.4 seconds. Third position was claimed by Petter Solberg and Chris Patterson, after team-mate Jari-Matti Latvala rolled with only two stages left to contest.

The Ford World Rally Team crew of Jari-Matti Latvala and Miikka Anttila claimed their second victory in Rally Sweden today, winning the event by 16.6 seconds after 349.16 competitive kilometres. Former team-mates Mikko Hirvonen and Jarmo Lehtinen finished second for Citroën while Mads Østberg and Jonas Andersson took the final podium position after a hard-fought battle to the finish.

At the end of the first full day of competition in Rally Sweden, Ford’s Jari-Matti Latvala heads the leaderboard ahead of Mikko Hirvonen, the Citroën driver 16.8 seconds adrift after 10 stages and nearly 150 competitive kilometres. Petter Solberg rounds off the top three.

With just one short stage remaining on Sunday, Citroën’s Sébastien Loeb looks set to claim his sixth victory in Rallye Monte-Carlo, the opening round of the FIA World Rally Championship. The Frenchman has a commanding two minute 41.6 second lead, with Dani Sordo and Petter Solberg in second and third respectively.
