Mike Conway to race for Venturi in Buenos Aires

Venturi have today announced that Mike Conway will race at the Buenos Aires ePrix on February 6th.

The Englishman, who previously tested for the Dragon Racing team ahead of the inaugural Formula E season, will partner Stephane Sarrazin for the Monaco based outfit.

Conway said: ‘‘Venturi is a top team in Formula E so it’s great to be able to join. The series is innovative and quite unique. It is quickly growing momentum and it’s attractive to a lot of manufacturers to showcase their technologies, so it’s exciting to be a part of the series.’’

Conway has taken a number of wins on street circuits in recent years, including victories at Macau, Monaco and Long Beach. ‘‘I have always liked street tracks. They are normally very bumpy and there are different grip levels throughout the lap so they are a lot of fun!’’

Gildo Pastor, team founder of Venturi, said: ‘‘We are proud to welcome Mike who is a born competitor. He is already involved with several international championships including WEC and IndyCar with several victories.’’

Conway will be replacing former Venturi driver Jacques Villeneuve. Both parties agreed to end their relationship early by mutual consent.
