Formula One

SEASON 2018

2018 FIA Formula One World Championship

Since Formula One World Championship’s inception in 1950, the sport has always sought to innovate, constantly pushing the technological boundaries in order to find the quickest route to victory. The sport has frequently pioneered technology that has been successfully transferred to everyday transport. In recent years, however, that process has become somewhat blunted as the automotive industry also pursued a range of alternative power solutions designed to target efficiency. The introduction of a new 1.6 litre, turbo-charged V6 power unit, relying heavily on hybrid technologies, aims to place the world’s foremost single-seat racing series at the cutting edge of automotive technology development, while at the same time preserving the culture of innovation and capacity to thrill that have been at the heart of the sport since its earliest days.
