Harry Tincknell is another racer making waves in the FIA World Endurance Championship having cut his teeth in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship.

In 2013, he became the first British driver to win in FIA F3 since the series' return, finishing that highly competitive season in fifth overall. He then made a successful switch to sports car racing, winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMP2 category at his first attempt.

Now racing for the factory Ford outfit, he has already stood on the podium this season at Spa driving the new Ford GT, and in this video explains how FIA F3 gave him the ideal education to forge a path to top-level motor racing. Find out the most important things he learned, plus his greatest rivals and his path to sports car success in the video below.

With a huge number of successful drivers having honed their skills in FIA F3, it is undoubtedly a cornerstone of driver development, and we'll be sharing more insights from former drivers over the coming weeks.
