For drivers eligible for the FIA Hill Climb Masters, which will take place in Gubbio (ITA) from 12-14 October, the first concrete phase will start on 17 August when registration opens. As in 2014 and 2016, entry will be free for all selected drivers!

With two months to go before the third edition of the FIA Hill Climb Masters, the excitement has yet to start building, but competitors are beginning to get ready for the event. The hotels in the host city, Gubbio, have already received reservation requests from teams. It is already becoming difficult to find accommodation in the area for the weekend of 12, 13 and 14 October.

For the drivers, the first step to securing a spot in the race is to submit their entry application. Registration will be open from 17 August until midnight on 19 September.

And since the Masters is an opportunity to celebrate those drivers who have scored points during the season in national or FIA championships, registration is free for everyone! Participants already enjoyed free registration for the two first editions of the competition, and it is a great way to reward drivers for qualifying. Entry in the Masters is indeed subject to the results obtained throughout the season: in order to get a spot, the drivers must have finished among the top twelve in the FIA European Hill Climb Championship or the International Hill Climb Cup, among the top five in a Category or the top three in a Group of a national championship, or in the top three of a zone championship. To date, the complete list of drivers eligible for a spot in the Masters is not yet known, and the next four weeks are likely to be decisive for those dreaming of being on the start line at Gubbio. Therefore, the first step is to meet the qualification requirement in conformity with the FIA Hill Climb Masters Sporting Regulations. In a way, the Masters is therefore already taking place, sometimes simultaneously in different regions of Europe…

The maximum number of entries has been limited to 160 so that the event, which will comprise three race heats on Sunday, 14 October and will be streamed live, runs smoothly.
