ACCR promotes safety on track
To improve safety at the Go Rigo Go racetrack, the Automóvil Club de Costa Rica (ACCR) carried out a diagnosis of the current situation and studied how to reduce the risks of crashes and ensure occupational health.
"With this action plan, we want to improve the current working conditions of the Track Officials, increase risk prevention measures and reduce hazards, allowing for safer motor sport in Costa Rica," said ACCR President Daniel Coen, who is also an engineer.
Another engineer involved in the project was ACCR officer Adriana Gutiérrez, trained in Occupational Health and Occupational Risk Prevention at the Universidad Tecnológica Nacional, Facultad Regional General Pacheco and FIA Region IV.
ACCR was involved in the analysis and improvement plan to create a safe working environment with adequate rules and procedures and adapted to a number of factors including infrastructure, environment and human error.
It is estimated that the project will, among other benefits, reduce distractions by 50% and increase safety on the track.
