On 9 March, the FIA inaugurated the new Geneva gallery of the FIA Hall of Fame, as representatives of the sport gathered at the FIA’s administrative offices for the meeting of the World Motor Sport Council.
Formula One World Champions Sir Jackie Stewart and Jacques Villeneuve attended the inauguration, opening the new gallery alongside FIA President Jean Todt.

The concept of the FIA Hall of Fame was first launched in Paris in December 2017. There, 33 winners of motor sport’s most prestigious title were honoured by the sport’s governing body.

FIA President Jean Todt said: “Following the opening of the first FIA Hall of Fame Gallery in Paris last December, it is gratifying to inaugurate this edition here in Geneva, to honour the achievements of those who have made such a great contribution to motor sport and who have upheld the FIA’s value of commitment, integrity, respect and sportsmanship. We look forward to celebrating the accomplishments of many more champions in the coming years.”

The launch of the Geneva gallery was supported by official FIA Hall of Fame partners Michelin and Rolex. Both brands are also involved with the FIA’s flagship Championships, from the FIA Formula One Championship (Rolex) to the FIA World Rally Championship (both), the FIA World Endurance Championship (both) and the FIA Formula E Championship (Michelin). LAT Images and INA (Institut National de l’Audiovisuel) are Media Partners, providing a hugely rich resource of incredible still and moving images of motor sport’s greatest heroes.

The achievements of those inducted are celebrated at the FIA Hall of Fame website, in order to help inspire the legends of the future.
