In a proud moment for Peru and the Touring y Automovil Club del Peru (TACP), 1888 Peruvian volunteers took center stage at the XIX Pan American Games Santiago 2023, showcasing their dedication and spirit.

Ennio Cornejo, TACP's Motorsport Commission analyst, played a crucial role in Relations and Services to the Olympic Committees, standing among the volunteers who made the event a success.

A total of 28,702 individuals from around the world registered for the volunteer program, emphasizing the global cooperation integral to the Pan American Games. Peru's leading foreign participation with 1888 volunteers underlines the nation's commitment to the success of this major sporting event.

"Volunteers are the heart of the Games; without them, this celebration could not take place," emphasized Neven Ilic, President of Panam Sports, recognising the pivotal role volunteers played in the event's smooth functioning and success.

Reflecting on the experience, Ennio Cornejo highlighted Peru's commitment to sports development beyond the Games.

“The Kart Slalom Project, supported by the FIA Sport Grant Programme, serves as a tool for social change in collaboration with the Special Legacy Project of the Pan American and Parapan American Games in Peru”, he said. “This initiative aims to provide schoolchildren aged 6 to 16 with opportunities for sports and recreational practice, promoting integration, healthy coexistence, respect, and inclusion through motorsports.”
