Jochen Hahn and Rene Reinert celebrated a win each in a dramatic day of action in the FIA European Truck Racing Championship at Circuit Zolder today.
 
The German duo ensured it was another fruitful day for IVECO as they enjoyed a double win after some excellent FIA ETRC action under the Belgian sun.
 
Hahn’s race one win was backed up by sixth place in a twice re-started race two. This ensured that the reigning champion maintains a comfortable points advantage over his rivals.

Reinert fended off significant pressure from Team Schwabentruck’s Steffi Halm in the second event which saw many incidents and some intense fender-to-fender action.
 
The sizeable Belgian crowd will get more action tomorrow when two more races play out on the tight and challenging Zolder track.
 
Race 1 
 
Jochen Hahn scored his 10^th victory of the 2019 FIA European Truck Racing Championship at Circuit Zolder this afternoon.
 
It was a hard fought win for the Hahn Racing IVECO driver as he tracked and pounced on leader Antonio Albacete at the start of lap 10 with a move down the inside of the Spaniard at turn one.
 
The Trucksport Lutz Bernau driver had got the drop on pole sitter Jochen Hahn as they accelerated off the line and claimed the line for turn one.
 
Albacete’s was looking for a repeat of his 2018 success in race one and help to cut the points standings gap on the reigning champion before Hahn’s decisive move.
 
Adam Lacko claimed third position for the Buggyra Racing team after a relatively lonely race The Czech driver was unable to get on terms with the front two but was also sufficiently ahead of fourth placed Andre Kursim.

Race 2 
 
Rene Reinert resisted huge pressure to score his third win of the 2019 FIA European Truck Racing Championship at Circuit Zolder this evening.
 
The Reinert Racing IVECO ace absorbed intense pressure from former teammate Steffi Halm’s Team Schwabentruck entry and crossed the finishing line just 0.4s clear.

Despite several looks to pass Reinert, Halm was unable to make one stick on the tight Belgian track and was forced to settle for second place.
 
For Halm it was her best finishing position since the Slovakiaring round in early July.
 
Norbert Kiss, who ran briefly ran second, was able to hold on to third place despite the close attention of Antonio Albacete and Adam Lacko who tailed him home in fourth and fifth positions.
