Iveco and New Holland Agriculture, part of the Fiat Industrial Group, will work closely with the FIA to spread the Safer Motoring message of the Action for Road Safety campaign. The promotion of the campaign will focus on the key target groups of truck and commercial vehicles drivers and retailers. In their role as official suppliers for the FIA initiative, Iveco and New Holland Agriculture will:

- Ensure visibility of the FIA Action for Road Safety campaign at all WTCC events in 2013.
- Assimilate a common communications campaign.
- Provide an online presence for the FIA Action for Road Safety campaign on all Iveco’s online platforms.
- Inform Iveco staff about the importance of safer road use via internal communications campaigns.
- Supply the FIA with data and studies on truck accidents and road safety.

Each year 1.3 million people die and nearly 50 million others are injured in road traffic accidents. The World Health Organisation (WHO) estimates that unless something is done to address this critical issue by 2030, traffic accidents will become the planet’s fifth most common cause of death, with a predicted 2.4 million fatalities per year.

The FIA’s Action for Road Safety campaign aims to address this critical problem by focusing the Federation’s resources on helping its member organisations around the globe to educate and advocate for safer roads, vehicles and behaviour. Launched on 11 May 2011 in support of the United Nations’ Decade of Action for Road Safety (2011-2020), the FIA’s initiative has received enthusiastic support from the motor sport community, members of government and key global decision-makers. The Federation is proud to welcome Iveco as the campaign’s official supplier and looks forward to utilising Iveco’s expertise to spread the safer motoring message.
