Audi will attempt to wrest back ownership of the FIA GT World Cup with a four-strong line-up across three teams entering the R8 LMS.

Audi Sport Team WRT fronts the manufacturer’s charge in the hands of Robin Frijns and Dries Vanthoor, who will attempt to return the Ingolstadt marque to the top of the podium after its successes in 2013, 2014 and 2016.

A mainstay of the Audi GT stable, Dutch racer Frijns – who made his DTM debut with Audi in 2018 – took the fight to Mortara in last year’s FIA GT World Cup en route to second position behind the Italian and will be looking to go one better this time around.

Team-mate Vanthoor, meanwhile, will look to emulate his brother Laurens who won the event for Audi back in 2016 as he prepares to make his Macau debut. While the elder of the Belgian brothers will compete in Macau with Porsche, 20-year-old Dries inherits Audi honours as reward for an impressive 2018 campaign that has yielded a win in the Blancpain GT Sprint Cup and overall victory in the Bathurst 12 Hours.

A front-runner in the largely German-based DMV-GTC series, Team Rutronik receives factory-backed status for its FIA GT World Cup outing with 2009 FIA GT3 champion Christopher Haase on driving duties.

Experienced Hong Kong single-seater and GT racer Adderly Fong returns to Macau driving an Audi R8 LMS under the Zun Motorsport Crew banner. The former GP3 and Le Mans 24 Hours starter has notched up a handful of starts at Macau over the years, though this is his first FIA GT World Cup start since 2015.
