The no11 BMW M3 of Italian crew of Gabriele Noberasco and Giacomo Ciucci was the top EHRC eligible car at the end of the first leg of the 33 rd Rally Elba Storico. The Category 4 BMW was lying 8 th overall after the first four stages of the Italian rally, 11.4 seconds ahead of the no9 Porsche 911 SC of Karl Wagner and Gerda Zauner, the Austrians heading up Category 3 despite a fuel pump issue that hampered their progress for most of the day.

On 24 September, the FIA Safe & Affordable Helmet Programme took a new step forward with a distribution of UN-standard helmets in Kathmandu, Nepal organised by the FIA, its Member Club Nepal Automobiles’ Association (NASA), the World Bank and the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport of Nepal (MoPIT).
