Reigning champion Norbert Kiss took another step towards sealing the 2022 Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship title with a double victory at Autodrom Most, Czechia. Jamie Anderson took his first career double win

Kiss kickstarted his weekend by taking yet another pole position and extending his record-breaking pole run. In the process, the Hungarian ace also broke the Czech circuit's lap time record for race trucks set all the way back in 2009.

Came race one and Kiss conducted another lights-to-flag victory, with a dramatic race taking place behind him.

Sunday was a similar scenario, with the championship leader winning the opening race of the day, in what was his 11th victory of the season.

Fourth and seventh place in races 2 and 4 respectively, allowed Kiss to accumulate 51 points over the weekend and, with 257 points to his name, extend his championship lead to 60 points.

Kiss’ closest challenger, Jochen Hahn leaves Czechia with the second-best point tally of the weekend – owing to three podium finishes (including a second place in the opening heat) and a fifth place - the six-time FIA ETRC title winner gathered 39 points.

Crucially, in the battle for second in the championship, Hahn extended his advantage over his compatriot Sascha Lenz by a further seven points and now leads SL Trucksport 30 driver 197 to 184.

Local ace Adam Lacko failed to win in front of his home crowd on this occasion, but a consistent streak of results – two second places plus a fifth and a fourth – allowed him to amass a total of 36 points (his second-best result of the season). With 158 points to his name and only 26 down on Lenz, the 2017 titlist is still very much in contention for an end-of-season top-three finish.

British racer Jamie Anderson, recorded the first double-victory of his FIA ETRC career, claiming victories in both semi-reversed grid heats of the weekend – races 2 and 4.

The traditionally busy second part of the season is set to continue at Circuit Zolder next weekend, to then move to Le Mans’ Circuit Bugatti (24-25 September) and conclude the season at Circuito del Jarama on the first weekend of October.
