They thanked him for this gesture of solidarity following the attack of December 31st  2016, which had struck the Reina, a restaurant, which has long welcomed the motor sport community when Turkey had an FIA Formula One Grand Prix.

During this dinner, in the presence of Bülent Katkak, President of the TTOK, Serkan Yazici, President of the TOSFED and Mumtaz Tahincioglu, President of the FIA Volunteers Commission, it was discussed firstly how Turkey can welcome some new motor sport championships, and secondly the challenge of road safety for a city like Istanbul. With more than 15 million people living in this area, which extends across two continents, is important.  Jean Todt and Kadir Topbas had some ideas to raise awareness and teach road users against road crashes, and Todt invited the mayor and the Turkish clubs to take part to the upcoming international FIA JCDecaux campaign, which will be launched in Paris on 10 March.
