The FIA’s guiding principle is to ensure safe, affordable and clean transport for all. Central to this is maintaining the benefits of personal mobility. This requires the concerted action of all stakeholders, including governments, industry, non-governmental organisations and individuals.
At the heart of the FIA's mobility principles is the desire to promote freedom of mobility and to protect the interests of consumers when travelling, taking into account environmental impact, safety concerns and related social and economic factors.
The organisation also aims to support member organisations in defining and defending a shared public policy vision for safe, sustainable and accessible mobility and to facilitate the early recognition of mobility trends, allowing member clubs to better serve their members and achieve business objectives.
The FIA also pedges to facilitate the effective exchange of information and best practice, to represent member clubs through the FIA’s consultative status at international level and to make possible regional co-ordination and co-operation in developing regional strategies, public policies and initiatives.
