The city of Budapest and Hungary’s motorsport fans enjoyed a tasty appetizer to this weekend’s WTCC event on Thursday, when a bunch of WTCC cars ran along the streets of the capital city.

The spectacular event was organized by the Hungaroring to promote the WTCC Race of Hungary and included stunt flying and runs of other racing cars, including two Formula One Red Bulls driven by David Coulthard and Daniel Ricciardo.

Sébastien Loeb’s Citroën, the Hondas of Hungary’s favourite Norbert Michelisz and Tiago Monteiro), Mikhail Kozlovskiy’s LADA and Gianni Morbidelli’s Chevrolet drove along the street-course on both banks of the Danube, from the central Szécheniy István tér, across the Szécheniy lánchíd (the famous Chain Bridge) and along the József Attila utca.

Despite a threat of rain, an estimated 300,000 spectators crowded along the streets to watch the racing cars at speed.
