The Trophy, which is the oldest among all the FIA Historic competitions, had events planned in Germany (2), Italy (2), Great Britain (1) and France (1). With the first five events concentrated between April and the beginning of August, the series has faced too many cancellations to justify its continuation in 2020.  

In agreement with the FJHRA (Formula Junior Historic Racing Association), the FIA has taken the decision to cancel the 2020 FIA Lurani Trophy, deferring the next edition by one year.
