FORMULA REGIONAL - SCHUMACHER WINS RACE 3 AND CONQUERS BARCELONA

David Schumacher took his second Formula Regional European Championship victory of the weekend at Barcelona.

In third and final race of the weekend Schumacher had a good getaway form pole position and led the pack followed by Dan Ticktum who started fourth and moved two places up on the opening lap.

Ticktum, despite making his category debut, impressed with pace and was putting pressure on the leading Schumachar throughout the race.

Enzo Fittipaldi and Fredrik Vesti were running fourth and fifth for Prema Powerteam until the Dane was spun by Matteo Nannini, who was later given a 25s penalty, promoting Sophia Floersch to fifth. Olli Caldwell finished one place ahead of Floersh in fourth.

“I have been learning the entire weekend. I will be there for the two remaining rounds of the season as I really enjoy the racing here. The direction we found with the team is the right one”, Ticktum commented.

In the overall drivers’ standings, it’s Vesti who leads with 347 points to his name. Fittipaldi (247) is second, ahead of Schumacher (222), Igor Fraga (205), Caldwell (190), Raul Guzman (132) and Floersch (124).

In the team’s standings Prema Powerteam (678) has built a sizable gap over DR Formula (337) and US Racing (292).

Next round of the championship will be held in Mugello from 5-6 of October.
