2014 FIA Mobility Conference in Melbourne

The FIA’s 22nd Mobility Conference was held in Melbourne, Australia on 16-19 September 2014, hosted by the Australian Automobile Association and the Royal Automobile Club of Victoria at their RACV City Club.

The conference theme, “Membership in a Connected World”, focussed on the rapid technological change in a connected world and what it means for the individual consumer and motorist and its impact on the future of FIA Member Clubs.

The 4-day programme featured leading international keynote speakers and six interactive workshops where delegates were updated on new trends, innovative strategies and proven programmes.

FIA President Jean Todt formally opened the conference.

An “FIA Share Fair” at Conference Week also gave delegates the opportunity to see how FIA Mobility’s range of activities could benefit their Club.

Social events for Conference Week included a welcome cocktail at Melbourne Star Observation Wheel and a Gala Dinner at the world famous Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Delegates also had the chance in an afternoon excursion session to visit one of four RACV country resorts, or the RACV service headquarters.

The first ever Conference Week held in Australia, it brought together more than 260 delegates from 72 mobility clubs and ACN’s, representing 75 countries and all regions.

We thank all participants once more for their valuable contribution to the success the conference.
