Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship action returns to the Nürburgring for the ADAC Truck Grand Prix this weekend

Heading up the field is reigning champion Norbert Kiss, who’s had a strong run so far this season, taking every single pole positing and scoring eight victories from 11 race outings.

The fans at the Nürburgring will have a huge array of home-grown heroes to cheer for this weekend, with eight German racers lining up on the grid of the venue located in the Eifel region.

Sascha Lenz has scored one win this season and had some close battles with championship leader Norbert Kiss. The SL Trucksport 30 racer will look to taste home glory this weekend.

Jochen Hahn has been on the podium eight times this season, but is yet to take his first win. He will without a doubt give it his best shot to get on the top step in front of his home crowd.

As always proven winners and former champions Adam Lacko and Antonio Albacete, who have both scored a win this season, will be constant threats for win.

Steffi Halm has enjoyed consistent points hauls this season. The Team Schwabentruck driver scored memorable victories at the ‘Ring in 2016 and 2018 and is sure again to be a crowd favourite.

André Kursim, who took a podium in Hungary and at the Slovakia Ring in the Sven Walter fronted Don’t Touch Racing Iveco S-Way, is another driver to watch.

Lion Truck Racing’s Anthony Janiec will return to action after missing the Slovakia Ring round.

NEW FACES BOLSTER GRID AS RACE BY RACE ENTRIESAs well as the regular contenders, there will be a strong group of race-by-race entries this weekend.

After his first outing of the season at the Slovakia Ring, Spanish racer Luis Recuenco will be back in action at the Nürburgring.

Returning to the grid after his impressive performance in the last round of the 2021 championship at Misano is Lukas Hahn.

Dutchman Erwin Kleinnagelvoort returns to action in his white Scania for the first time since 2019.

Another welcome addition for the weekend is Finnish racer Emma Mäkinen, who will line up alongside Steffi Halm for Team Schwabentruck.

Set to make a debut appearance in the Goodyear FIA ETRC is Dutch series regular Stefan Kursch.

Off-track actionThe Goodyear FIA ETRC provides an excellent marketing and networking opportunity across the race weekend. A key attraction is the transport and commercial vehicle industry exhibition in the paddock. On Friday the ADAC Mittelrhein and TÜV Rheinland Symposium is being held at the Dorint Hotel followed by the Goodyear FIA ETRC Innovation Talk.

The Truck Grand Prix Job Expo is focussed on the truck driver shortage aiming to connect interested parties with potential employers.

The packed timetable also includes the traditional country festival, different charity activities for last year’s devastating floods, there is also a great kids’ zone, fireworks, the Trucker Camp and the famous Nürburgring Truck Corso.
