Two-time title winner Norbert Kiss arrives in France with an eye on the big prize and his first title since 2015.

The Hungarian ace has impressed with consistency over the course of the season, winning two races at each of the rounds, taking a total of six victories and accumulating 127 points.

14 points down and Kiss lies Adam Lacko. The Czech racer may have only won on one occasion this year, in the semi-reversed grid Race 2 at Zolder, but his consistency has been hugely impressive.

The 2017 titlist visited the podium on eight occasions out of 11 races held so far and surely has the appetite to add even more silverware to his trophy cabinet.

Third of the contenders, Sascha Lenz, won twice this year (including the season-opening race at the Hungaroring) and recorded further three podium finishes, but experienced a rather mediocre weekend at Zolder, where he crossed the line outside of the top five on two occasions.

Four points down on Lacko and 18 on Kiss, the German needs a strong weekend on the French soil in order to keep his title chances alive. The SL Turcksport racer knows his way around the Bugatti Circuit, having won here in 2019.

Looking beyond the top three, 2019 champion Jochen Hahn took his first victory of the season last time out at Zolder while that year’s runner-up Antonio Albacete is still looking for his first win of the year.

Both wily old foxes will surely present a threat to the title challengers and will seek further solid results. Albacete currently has 79 points to his name, while Hahn is at 63.

Steffi Halm will be another driver seeking good results at Le Mans. Fourth in the 2019 standings, this year she is currently ranked seventh, with both of her two podium finishes coming from semi-reversed grid races.

The weekend will run to a usual FIA ETRC format with timed practice and Super Pole sessions followed by two races on each of the days. For the second race of the day the top eight from the first race will start in the reversed order.
