The Royal Automobile Club of Western Australia (RAC), member of the Australian Automobile Association (AAA), has recently partnered with Tourism WA to highlight vacations within the State and encourage more Western Australians to embrace their territory for their holiday travel.

Part of the ‘Wander out Yonder’ campaign, the partnership includes a special ‘WA Travel’ edition of RAC’s Horizons magazine, which will be distributed in September to promote WA getaways and offer travel deals across the State.

RAC Executive General Manager of Tourism, Tony Pickworth, said RAC was proud to partner with Tourism WA and help support regional communities and local tourism operators, which had been hit hard by COVID-19.

“There has never been a more important time to explore what’s in our own backyard and discover what makes Western Australia so remarkable,” Mr Pickworth said.

“We are proud to play a part in helping more Western Australians embrace the wonders of our great State and support our regional communities, which rely so heavily on local tourism.

“If you’re able to, now is the time to book a WA getaway — travel somewhere in our State you’ve never been before and support your fellow Western Australians."

RAC’s Horizons magazine is the State’s largest circulating publication, reaching a third of the WA population.

“This partnership and special edition of Horizons provides a unique opportunity to offer RAC members exclusive travel deals and promotions, to help them enjoy a safe and relaxing WA staycation,” Mr Pickworth said.

“Once your plans are in place, please ensure you prepare your vehicle for the journey, enjoy the ride and, most importantly, arrive safely.”

The partnership with Tourism WA follows RAC’s recently launched Safe Travels initiative designed to help Western Australians explore our great State safely, by offering:

  • Free vehicle safety checks with our RAC Patrols and Auto Service mechanics
  • Free 1.5 hour caravan safety training sessions in Perth and Busselton
  • A competition for 100 lucky winners for a 3-night stay at an RAC Parks and Resort property
