At the end of November, the Automobile Club d’Italia (ACI) launched a campaign to promote a new mobility culture, which covers road safety, smart mobility and motor sport.

The campaign, launched under the aegis of the Italian Sports Minister and the Presidency of the Council of Minister, supports a more dynamic, rational and flexible mobility culture that will be safer for all road users. The campaign highlights three components for a better mobility:

  • Road safety, which focuses on proper driving behaviour. It encourages the development of active and passive safety measures through driver assistance systems, improvement of road traffic regulation tools and dialogue between and among vehicles.
  • Smart mobility, which highlights new forms of vehicle use. This includes the interoperability between different modes of transport, digital applications and the development of electromobility.
  • Motor sport, which aims at focusing on the most advanced technological developments, and their application to road vehicles.

On the campaign, Mr Angelo Sticchi Damiani, ACI President said “With this big corporate campaign, the Italian Automobile Club speaks about the current and near future mobility. This mobility will be characterised by better road safety, alternative energy sources, and digital services to meet citizens’ expectations.”

Italian TV networks supported the campaign, with 300 TV appearances over a period of three weeks starting from November 26.

The campaign will then continue in December, in leading daily newspapers with in-depth information and features on the topic.
