The 2018 FIA European Truck Racing Championship calendar will feature both stability and continuity

The 2018 FIA European Truck Racing Championship calendar will feature both stability and continuity after championship organisers and promoter, the European Truck Racing Association announced the provisional schedule today.

Continuing to bring balanced and challenging circuits to the much loved and well attended FIA ETRC season, ETRA has majored on a solid structure and clearly identifiable markets for the team, drivers and their partners to perform their famous feats with the titans of the motorsport world.

The 2018 FIA ETRC calendar will feature a slightly later start to the season than usual with the well-established weekend in Misano, Italy, at the end of May.

The event, which has become an increasingly popular fixture with fans, media and the trucking industry, will be perfect venue for the start of the new season.
Following the opening round there will be a familiar circuit in a new date as the Hungaroring moves from August to June.

The venue close to Budapest has been a hit with fans and drivers for several seasons now and the date will offer more feverish and devoted following of double ETRC champions Norbert Kiss

From Hungary, the championship will then head to the Nurburgring for the third round

The famed ADAC Truck Grand Prix is often described as the jewel in the crown and it is not difficult to say why.

Over 120,000 fans attend the event every year and celebrate truck racing, the truck and haulage industry and all thing that combine to make trucking culture such a vibrant and enjoyable community.

July and August will see two eastern European fixtures on the calendar as the SlovakiaRing and Autodrom Most.

The SlovakiaRing held its first FIA ETRC round last July and was well received with an immediate appetite for the cut and thrust of truck racing and especially the festival atmosphere created at the challenging circuit near Bratislava.

Autodrom Most takes place in late August and is sure to guarantee another huge crowd to cheer on recently crowned champion Adam Lacko and his Buggyra International Racing System team.

Adding continuity to the structure of the FIA ETRC once again, will be the final three races of the 2018 competition.

Zolder, Le Mans Bugatti and Jarama will again offer an autumn bonanza of truck racing action as the title run-in again races to an exciting crescendo.

Commenting on the provisional 2018 calendar, ETRA director Georg Fuchs said: “We are delighted to share the calendar plans for next season which will see more advancements in the long-term strategy to bring more full season entrants to FIA ETRC. This is due to a consolidated and more balanced calendar which will continue to gather exposure and innovation for the FIA ETRC.

“With a consolidated and more well-balanced date schedule for 2018 and the cornerstones of the FIA ETRC already in place with the ultra-popular festivals of racing at Nürburgring and Le Mans, we have an excellently balanced calendar which we believe will attract new levels of interest in our vibrant and exciting disciplines of racing, industry and entertainment.”
