Lorenzo Granai, Loran SRL (co-driver of Giandomenico Basso), first position

Q:
Lorenzo, congratulations on that fantastic victory. Tell us about your performance this weekend – the perfect drive from Giandomenico?

LG:
We are very happy. We wanted to make a very good race for what happened to the best friend of Giandomenico. We had a difficult weekend but now, with him, that followed us, I'm sure we did a very good job.

Q:
And a victory in the ERC is a very big achievement?

LG:
Yes, of course. Giando won two times the European championship and now we come back to home and this victory is very important for us, both for the Italian championship and the European championship.

Q:
What are the chances of more ERC outings in the future?

LG:
We will see. It will be very interesting.

Q:
The debut for the new Fiesta R5 in the ERC. Given you knew nothing about this car a week ago has this resulted exceeded expectations?

Simone Campedelli, Orange 1 M-Sport Rally Team, second position

SC:
Yes, to be honest, finally after a really tough weekend for us, we were second and we are so happy, because the team put in a lot of effort to get this result. As a driver I'm not 10 per cent satisfied because I was really focused on the rally and this is one of the rallies that I like more. I would have liked to make something more and fight until the end with Basso, but at the moment, this is it.

Q:
But the points scored must make you satisfied?

SC:
Yes, absolutely. For the championship it's a really important result.

Q:
Any more ERC events for you this year?

SC:
I don't know to be honest. It doesn't depend only on me. I would really like to be back in an international contest, but we have to make it properly in the right way in case it happens.

Andrea Crugnola, third position

Q:
Thirteen stage wins out of 16 points to so much more had it not been for that puncture. What are your emotions right now?

AC:
Sometimes rally can be cruel, and today was my turn, or yesterday rather. Since I got the puncture I just tried to push as much as I could to gain as many positions as possible for the Italian championship. We deserve the podium this weekend because our pace was very high. I hope to come back to ERC to win.

Q:
That battle with Alexey Lukyanuk on the final stage must have been really exciting for you?

AC:
Of course. It was an amazing battle. In the future, maybe I can come back and win. That would be nice.

Q:
We saw you in ERC Junior in 2014 and we knew what you could do then. It’s good to see your speed back here in an R5 car.

AC:
For sure it would be nice because I gained a lot of experience in the last couple of years. I've been in WRC, then I switched to R5, so my experience is building up every time in the race and probably now is the time to try for a European title. We will see about the money; budget is always a problem.
