CHAMPIONNAT CODASUR DES RALLYES
CHAMPIONNAT CODASUR DES RALLYES
On the South American continent, where rally is hugely popular, the FIA CODASUR Rally Championship has offered since 1997 a high-level competition platform to the most talented rally aficionados from Latin America. The all-gravel series took its name from the “Confederacion Deportiva Automovilismo Sudamericana”, which is involved in its organization.
Runner-up in the 2018 championship, Paraguay’s Alejandro Galanti sealed the 2019 crown in his Toyota Etios by claiming victory on Rally del Atlantico, the season’s closing round in Uruguay. His victory put an end to three years of domination of fellow compatriot and six-time CODASUR winner Gustavo Saba.
Galanti having changed co-drivers during the season, it’s Hector Nunes who navigated his way to the stars to clinch the CODASUR co-driver title. His driver Diego Dominguez finished 2nd in the championship.
