Asia-Pacific Rally Championship
Asia-Pacific Rally Championship
Created in 1988, the FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC) stretches over a huge area of the globe and two continents, from New Zealand all the way up to Japan.
To facilitate participation, in 2019 the all-gravel event series kicked off with a new format: two distinct APRC Cups – the Asia Cup and the Pacific Cup – have been organised into smaller territories and are now held as qualifiers for the finale.
With four events each, the Asia Cup visits Japan, Indonesia and China, while the Pacific Cup is contested in New Zealand and Australia. The title-deciding round will take place in China at the end of October.
The current APRC champion, Japan’s Yuya Sumiyama, won the 2018 title with a Škoda Fabia R5, his biggest success so far.
