The penultimate round of the 2021 FIA European Historic Rally Championship will be held in Switzerland with the return of the Rallye International du Valais to the EHRC calendar, which will be held on the 21-23 October 2021.

Audi and Ford go Head-to-Head in Category 4

With three Category 4 wins so far this season, Spain’s Daniel Alonso is currently leading the championship on 91 points and will be joined in the Ford Sierra RS Cosworth by Jorge Henriques.

Lahti Historic Rally winners Ville Silvasti and Risto Pietlainen will be traveling to Switzerland to compete in the Audi quattro A2, the Finns currently on 61 points in the Category 4 standings.

Ford and Opel in Category 2

Category 2 has received four EHRC entries for the Rallye International du Valais, with the two of the championship contenders making the trip to Italy.

Lahti Historic Rally and Rally de Asturias Historico category 2 winners Ernie and Karen Graham (101pts) hold a 13-point lead in the title race in their Ford Escort RS1800.  However, with only five events counting for the championship, dropped scores are now coming into play and their points tally is actually 91 points.

Rallye Weiz winners Paolo Pasutti and Giovanni Battista Campeis are currently lying in second spot on 88 pts, which is 77 points with dropped scores, but the Italians are not competing in Switzerland.

Rally Elba Storico Category 2 winners Vojtech Stajf and Vladimir Zelinka are lying in 4th place on 58 points in the yellow Opel Kadett C-GTE, but the Czech teammates have only taken part in three events so far, so their points tally in the last two rallies of the season will count in full.

James Potter will be joined by fellow Brit Greg McCormack in the Flexifly Rally Team run Ford Escort MK1, with Richard and Lucie Ronay also running a Ford Escort, this one an RS1800.

The Rallye International du Valais will start on Thursday 21st October, with the action beginning on Friday 22nd and concluding on Saturday 23rd October.
