KISS ON FORM FROM THE OFF
The driver of the red MAN run by the Révész Truck Racing Team started off the weekend on high, qualifying on pole and converting it to a victory in the race that due to wet weather conditions, started udder yellow flags.

Once the track went green, Kiss opened a healthy gap over the rest of the pack and remained in control.

Behind Kiss’ back, Sascha Lenz, starting from third on the grid, was putting pressure on his compatriot Jochen Hahn. The pair got into an epic wheel-to-wheel battle with Lenz eventually making a bold move around the outside of Hahn going into Turn 15 and completing the overtake in the following corner.

In the closing stages of the race, Lenz closed on Kiss, but the Hungarian managed to keep his German opponent at bay, taking his third consecutive victory this season.

In the second, semi-reversed grid race, Téo Calvet found himself on pole pole position. The young Frenchman didn’t get the best of getaways aboard his Freightliner, with André Kursim settling into the lead going into the second turn.

Meanwhile, Kiss, started his charge up the order, picking up drivers one by one. Once he caught up with the leader, he used every inch of the track to find his way through. Kursim did his best holding him off but in the penultimate lap, the Hungarian wrestled his way past the yellow IVECO to take the flag. However, post-race Kiss was given a 10-second penalty for the contact, which demoted him down to third and handed back the victory to Kursim.

DOMINATION CONTINUES ON SUNDAY
It was six-time FIA ETRC title-winner Hahn who secured his first pole of the season on Sunday. The German went 0.017s faster than Kiss, with Lenz and local ace Adam Lacko sharing the second row of the grid.

When the race went under way, Kiss launched an attack on pole-sitter Hahn, taking the lead going into Turn 2.

He then disappeared into the distance, extending the gap lap after lap to cross the line 21 seconds ahead of second-placed Lacko, with Lenz rounding out the podium.

Antonio Albacete started fourth and final race of the weekend from pole position, with Shane Brereton alongside him. The Spaniard fended off the British racer and held onto the lead. 

Meanwhile, Lenz, starting from sixth on the grid, worked his way up the order.

He moved up into third, passing Calvet and soon overtaking Brereton and moving into second. He then went on to catch up with Albacete and made his way past the Spaniard.

Lenz remained in control from then on and brought his MAN home, with Albacete and Brereton rounding out the podium, making it 1-2-3 for the German manufacturer.

NEXT STOP: ZOLDER
Heading into Zolder in mid-September, Kiss leads the standings with 84 points to his name. Lenz sits in second, three points down on the Hungarian, with Lacko, who so far gathered 69 points, completing the top three.

The Czech racer, despite scoring five podium finishes this season, is still seeking his first victory of 2021.

The title will be decided over four rounds held across six weeks, with Zolder followed by Le Mans, Jarama and Misano.
