FIA ETRC ROUNDS AT ZOLDER AND JARAMA CANCELLED

The European Truck Racing Association (ETRA), the promoter of the FIA European Truck Racing Championship (FIA ETRC) has today received the approval of the FIA to cancel this year’s rounds at Zolder and Jarama.

Due to ongoing national restrictions for events in Belgium and Spain, as well as travel restrictions and quarantine requirements when returning from certain countries, ETRA has consulted with the FIA and local organisers regarding the feasibility and viability of the FIA ETRC races in Zolder and Jarama.

Current quarantine regulations in place in different countries for travelers returning from high-risk areas meant that a fair competition couldn’t be guaranteed as not all teams would have been able to participate.

As there is still a ban on spectators at major events in Belgium and only a limited number of spectators allowed at events in Spain, holding the races under these circumstances would have made it commercially unviable too.

ETRA is making every effort and evaluating options to safeguard the remaining three rounds of the 2020 FIA ETRC season.
