The Croatian Automobile & Karting Federation (CAKF) has recently been making strides to implement and popularise Digital Motor Sport in the country.

Since the end of last year, the Croatian National Sporting Authority has been working on implementing new Digital Motor Sport competitions in partnership with local TV station in order to test public interest.

Over 700 people competed in a November's offline event. More recently, the CAKF adopted new regulations which will allow Digital Motor Sport tournaments based on Gran Turismo Sport and iRacing platforms to start in April. The Gran Turismo Sport test race has been broadcasted on TV and other platforms and reached over 50,000 people.

"The team has been doing a great job and I am proud to have such good results. This is a new and complex area with big potentials”, said Davorin Stetner, Croatian ASN President & FIA Digital Motor Sport Working Group member.

“We are starting with new eLicences which would hopefully attract new people to our sport. The plan for this year is to have up to three disciplines and if everything goes well, I would be happy to share all my experiences with my colleagues from the FIA Central European Zone region to grow the competition into a zone championship,“ concluded Stetner.
