In November 2019, the Austrian Automobile, Motorcycle and Touring Club (ÖAMTC) promoted the #3500LIVES global road safety campaign across multiple communication channels in Austria.

ÖAMTC chose to showcase the “Buckle Up” road safety message embodied by Fernando Alonso, two-time Formula One World Champion and 2018-2019 FIA Drivers’ LMP World Endurance Champion.

Thanks to cooperation between the FIA and the JCDecaux, the number one global outdoor advertising company, and their representative in Austria MEGABOARD, ÖAMTC displayed the #3500LIVES visual on billboards throughout the month of November. To strengthen its focus on road safety, ÖAMTC also published campaign videos on its website, video channel, and ÖAMTC TV, alongside with information and key statistics on road traffic crashes emphasising the importance of seatbelt use.

Following the ÖAMTC press release, the major Austrian media did a TV feature highlighting the topic of road safety and its promotion by the FIA Member Club. The ORF (Austrian Broadcasting Corporation) featured the #3500LIVES Global Road Safety Campaign videos, as well as a demonstration in ÖAMTC Driving Safety Centre in Teesdorf, where traffic experts demonstrated the significance of buckling up.

Further to this, the campaign activities by ÖAMTC were advertised on the major Austrian radio station ORF-OE3, as well as on numerous online and print media and social media postings.
