Nasser Al-Attiyah (QAT), a 14-time FIA MERC champion, once again set the benchmark by taking a record-breaking 14th victory in his home event - his 70th overall win in the championship - with a brand new Volkswagen Polo GTI R5. Al-Attiyah's French co-driver Matthieu Baumel duly claimed his third win in Qatar and a career 18th in the MERC.

Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari (QAT) and Marshall Clarke (GBR) confirmed second with a Skoda Fabia R5; Hamed bin Eid Al-Thani (QAT) and Dale Moscatt (AUS) took third place on the podium with a Ford Fiesta R5.

Meshari Al-Thefiri (KWT) took a crushing win in the FIA MERC 2 championship.
