An athletics legend adds his name to Save Kids Lives

Haile Gebrselassie is the latest person to take on the role of ambassador for Save Kids Lives. He signed the board that supports the campaign, along with Jean Todt at a meeting held yesterday in Addis Ababa

The FIA President is there for the second FIA African Sport Regional Congress. 

Gebrselassie is a legendary figure in African sport and athletics on a global scale: he has won Olympic gold twice in the 10,000 metres, at Atlanta in 1996 and Sydney in 2000; he is an eight times world champion at the distance, with four indoor and four outdoor titles; he has set no less than 26 records in long distance and half-distance races and still holds the record for 20 kilometres on track and for 30 on the road. He won a total of nine marathons: four times in a row in Berlin (2006-2009), three times in Dubai (2008-2010) and once each in Amsterdam (2005) and Fukuoka (2006).
