Sporting Commissions

The WMSC is assisted by specialised Sporting Commissions and Working Parties.

The members of the Sporting Commissions are elected, every second year, by the WMSC. The Presidents and Vice-presidents of the Sporting Commissions are appointed, every second year, by the WMSC on proposal of the President of the FIA (with the exception of the President of the International Karting Commission who is appointed for 4 years). The various Commissions comprise FIA members and, where appropriate, representatives from manufacturers, circuits, etc.

The Commissions often mirror the FIA championships, developing proposals for regulations in each series.

The International Karting Commission has a specialised set of working groups, and its own administration, and develops karting activities across the world under the supervision of the WMSC.
