PRESS RELEASE

Dr Ian Roberts has been appointed FIA Formula One Medical Rescue Coordinator and will work within the FIA medical team at Grand Prix during the 2013 F1 season. He will report to Professor Jean-Charles Piette, the FIA’s permanent Medical Delegate to F1.

While Professor Piette will oversee emergency operations from race control, Dr Roberts will deploy to the track. His primary role there is to supervise the response of the local medical team.

The venue may change but the names are familiar, as once again Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull Racing have been presented with their FIA Formula One World Championship trophies at the FIA Prize Giving Gala.

The final 2012 meeting of the World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) took place today, 5 December, in Istanbul. The FIA President, Jean Todt, opened the meeting by thanking Demir Berberoglu, Műmtaz Tahincioglu and the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation for their hospitality and for hosting the week of FIA meetings in Turkey. The following decisions were taken.

The FIA received a letter from Scuderia Ferrari, seeking clarification on Sebastian Vettel's overtaking manoeuvre in Sao Paulo on Sunday.  

In the spirit of transparency and goodwill, the FIA wishes to make public the receipt of this letter.
