Wales Rally GB - Conference 2 

The F2 Championship was born of a FIA initiative : provide young, talented drivers the opportunity to compete in top-level racing. This season they begin to use a JPH1B F2 car, designed by Williams F1 Team, producing 500bhp from a turbocharged 1.8 litre Audi engine, new Yokohama tyres and carbon composite brakes.

Each week end of race is formatted as following :

Friday :

Free Practice 1 : 45 minutes

Free Practice 2 – 45 minutes

Saturday :

Qualifying 1 – 30 minutes

Race 1 – 40 minutes (Boost zones enabled from lap 2)

Sunday :

Qualifying 2 – 30 minutes (Overboost enabled)

Race 2 – 40 minutes (Boost Zones enabled from lap 2)

The F2 championship uses the same points system as F1 with a driver’s end of season total made up of his/her best results less two scores.

The official launch of the new FIA European GT3 Championship took place in 2005. This innovative new Championship, which take to the tracks, alongside the FIA GT, in 2006.

In the six years of its existence, the FIA GT3 European Championship has made a big impact on the world of motorsport.

GT3 regulations have become the standard for almost all of the national and international GT series across the world. The FIA GT1 World Championship has also adopt GT3 technical regulations in 2012.

Since its start the FIA GT3 European Championship attracts some of the leading amateur and semi professional GT drivers. It is a platform where the grid is a mixture between established international GT drivers, real gentleman drivers and young racers who are coming from single-seaters and taking their first steps in sportscar racing.
